Stel Walker has been a Special Educator within Baltimore City Public Schools for 13 years, with the last 10 working with students diagnosed with disabilities of emotional disturbance. Ms. Walker's dedication to Environmental Science and Global Education for Science has led to partnerships to advance personal knowledge and practice. She is also the recipient of the Marion Bowers Education Fellowship; in addition she participated in assisting the National Aquarium and NOAA with their launching of What Lives in Our Waters Program. Aside from being an educator, she enjoys reading poetry, sitting on ocean beaches–or by any body of tranquil water–and cooking. Walker's dream careers involve being an astronomer or meteorologist.
