Kelly Feille is Associate Professor of Science Education at the University of Oklahoma’s Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education. With a focus on elementary science education, schoolyard learning, and hands-on research methods, Feille explores how outdoor, inquiry-based experiences can shape both teachers and students in meaningful ways. Her work, recognized by awards from the Association for Science Teacher Education and the University of Oklahoma, champions the power of schoolyards and real-world environments to make science come alive for young learners. Feille earned her Ph.D. in Science Education from Texas Christian University and a B.A. in Philosophy with a Mathematics minor from Texas State University. Her research has been widely published in journals such as the Journal of Science Teacher Education and School Science and Mathematics, and she also co-edits Electronic Journal for Research in Science and Mathematics Education. Active in professional communities, Feille has a long service record with the Association for Science Teacher Education and School Science and Mathematics Association. With a passion for mentorship, she is dedicated to helping new educators find their voice and develop their teaching identities through immersive, outdoor-based, and authentic learning experiences.
