House Concurrent Resolution 87 — which would have urged the Hawaii department of education to "establish an annual Climate Week in all public schools across the State to spread climate awareness, education, and participation in sustainability initiatives" and request it to "collaborate with environmental organizations and policymakers to develop an opportunity for interactive climate action and support student-led initiatives that result in positive climate action" — died in the Senate Education Committee when the legislature adjourned sine die on May 2, 2025. The identical House Resolution 81 was adopted by the House of Representatives on March 27, 2025, as NCSE previously reported.
