Washington's House Bill 1134 (PDF), prefiled on December 24, 2024, seeks to establish a green schools program "to create and expand resource conservations in public schools."

The program would, among other things, "[s]upport instruction in climate curriculum aligned with the state learning standards for science and integrated environmental and sustainability." Funding for the program would be provided by "revenues from the climate commitment act," i.e., the state's cap-and-invest program.

Sponsored by Steve Berquist (D-District 11), Joel McEntire (D-District 19), and Beth Doglio (D-District 22), the bill is not yet assigned to a committee.
