NCSE's Lin Andrews discusses climate change with Mashable

Climate change on a chalkboard

NCSE's Director of Teacher Support Lin Andrews was featured in Mashable's "Schools rarely teach climate change outside of science class. Teachers are changing that" (September 11, 2020), which discussed the state of American climate change education today, with a focus on the prospects for teaching climate change outside the science classroom.

Along with Nancy Metzger-Carter and Tracy Curtin, teachers interviewed for the article, Andrews emphasized the value of interdisciplinary approaches to teaching climate change, the need for teachers to monitor the emotional state of their students when teaching about climate change, and the importance of not framing climate change as a partisan political issue.
