NCSE Deputy Director Glenn Branch discussed the Scopes trial with BBC News Brasil (April 4, 2025) for its "Como 'julgamento do macaco' marcou confronto entre ciência e religião nos EUA há 100 anos" ("How the 'monkey trial' marked a clash between science and religion in the US 100 years ago"). "Branch says that although there are still some attempts to undermine the teaching of evolution in public schools in the United States, research indicates that such teaching is expanding and improving," the article noted. Also quoted in the article were Edward J. Larson, the author of the Pulitzer-Prize-winning Summer for the Gods (1997) and a recipient of NCSE's Friend of Darwin award, and Brenda Wineapple, the author of Keeping the Faith (2014).
