NCSE is pleased to congratulate J. Marshall Shepherd, a member of NCSE's board of directors, on being granted a Regents' Professorship by the University of Georgia. Such professorships are "bestowed by the Board of Regents on truly distinguished faculty of the University of Georgia whose scholarship or creative activity is recognized both nationally and internationally as innovative and pace-setting," according to the Office of the Provost at the university. Shepherd is the Georgia Athletic Association Distinguished Professor of Geography and Atmospheric Sciences and the director of the Atmospheric Sciences Program at the University of Georgia.
