The bill to establish Maryland Climate Education Month dies

Maryland State House.

Maryland's House Bill 620 (PDF), which would, if enacted, have required the state's governor annually to proclaim the month of April as Maryland Climate Education Month, died on March 17, 2026, after a deadline for bills to pass committee passed.

The proclamation would have urged the state's residents to "participate in educational activities and initiatives that promote an awareness of climate change" and "take action toward the State's climate commitments."
