Climate Change in my Community: The Sea Stars Kit

Learn how the rise in sea temperature due to climate change affects entire ecosystems!

"Star Grazing" is about understanding the impacts of rising temperatures on the nutrient cycle of marine life. In this activity, developed by NCSE Graduate Student Outreach Fellow Laurie Luckritz, participants discover that sea star populations are decreasing while mussel populations rise, which causes biodiversity to decrease overall. This activity demonstrates that raising awareness about the factors that damage entire ecosystems is critical to their survival.
